Summer Time Sipping

It’s summertime and many of us are out enjoying ourselves at festivals, sporting events and (of course) indulging in the latest series of Love Island. Summer is a time associated with having fun and this presents a huge opportunity for any brands who want to align their logo with enjoyment, joy and relaxation.
The power of brand is what all great marketers seek. So we wanted to uncover the winning drink brands who have aligned themselves with some of this seasons hottest summer events….

First up we have fans of the Glastonbury festival! Can you guess which drinks made the top 10? It’s no surprise that Brothers Cider came out on top as the most popular drink associated with Glastonbury, as it was the official cider of the festival this year and has been selling at the festival for over 20 years.

As the official drink partner of Wimbledon, you would think Pimms would come out on top, however, the top alcoholic brand for Wimbledon was actually BrewDog. BrewDog is known for being an expert in marketing and driving brand awareness and has become a household name in recent years. Outside of beer, they are also famous for ciders, spirits, hotels and pubs where they tend to show all the big sporting events. As football season is currently on hold, all the attention has switched to tennis.

Surprisingly official sponsors on Love Island, WKD did not show in the top 10. It’s clear that this audience is still very summer vibe-focused. Malibu Rum is very much a tropical drink, with branding almost similar to Love Island, and who doesn’t love a cheeky cider in summer?

So there you have it! A celebration of this Summer’s drinks brands whose marketing and sponsorship has paid off in positioning themselves against some of the UK’s most popular seasoned events.
